The Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government has published a rough sleeping strategy setting out the government’s vision for halving rough sleeping by 2022 and ending it by 2027.

The strategy includes plans for care leavers including: employing specialist personal advisers to provide intensive support in the 47 areas in England with the highest rates of rough sleeping amongst care leavers.

The strategy also announces plans to launch a new Social Impact Bond (SIB) aimed at young people between the ages of 18 and 25 who are not in education, employment or training and are at risk of homelessness and rough sleeping; and recognises the increased risk of homelessness for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender young people.
