How you can help
We need your help to enable the Fosterline service to continue to empower foster carers to fulfil their role of foster care to some of the most vulnerable children within our society. On average another child enters the care system every 50 minutes and the number has steadily risen since 2009 with over 70% of looked after children and young people residing in foster care. Below are the four ways you can help or download the Friends of Fosterline Pack for more details.
1. Spread the word
The easiest way you can help us is to tell a friend, colleague, foster carer or someone you know is considering a career in fostering about Fosterline.
Help us display posters to inspire those currently fostering and thinking of fostering to contact Fosterline for advice and support, like our Friends have done in their communities. You can download the posters here.
2. Share your story
Your story counts. You can help to raise awareness of fostering and the need for more foster carers. If you have a story to tell, whether it is a positive experience of looking after a child, or using Fosterline as a service, and would feel comfortable sharing your story with others, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us a bit more about your experience.
3. Fundraise for Fosterline
Fosterline England is funded by the Department; however, we are always striving to develop the
service, and the support given. Every pound raised for Fosterline helps us support more foster carers, recruit more foster carers with our OneMoreHome campaign and improve outcomes for children in care.
If you would like to raise funds for Fosterline, you can do this every time you shop online with Easyfundraising.
We also have some ideas and advice to help you get started with your fundraising activity. Click on the links to your right or download the Friends of Fosterline Pack for more details.
4. Make a donation
Our Fosterline advisors have been contacted on over 83,700 occasions in the past year and will continue to help even more people for as long as the Fosterline service is running. This wouldn’t be possible without continued funding for the service so vital to so many would-be and current foster carers.
The average call to Fosterline lasts for 35 minutes. Could you donate the cost of this call?
Just £5.00 could help to ensure foster carers are supported to provide a better future for some of our most vulnerable children.
If you wish to donate please enter the amount you can comfortably afford below and click the `Donate Now` button
Thank you to everyone that has been able to donate. You can make a difference, you can keep a child from abuse and neglect.
Be a Friend of Fosterline. Be the reason:
- another person enters the assessment process
- another foster carer gets the right information and support
- another vulnerable child has their rights protected
- another child in care has the same opportunity as their peers
Together, we can be truly amazing and help empower foster carers to make a difference to children and young people in care.
