TV chef Lorraine Pascale has judged six year old Lola Mair’s cake the winner of Fosterline Foundation’s Easter cake decorating competition. Lola’s mum Catherine is a foster carer from Sheffield who currently looks after her two children as well as two foster children.

Catherine said:  “Lola enjoys cooking and has helped to look after many children. We love baking as it’s something the kids can do together but on different levels. One can be greasing a tin, the other weighing out ingredients, and they’re all happy to eat the finished product!”

Lola’s creation was made with digestive biscuits, mascarpone cheese and Cadburys chocolate spread which Lorraine said won because of its ‘ingenuity and creative baking’. Lola has won a family day trip to Cadbury World as well as a personally signed copy of one of Lorraine’s cookery books.

Fosterline manager, Steven Stockley said: “We are thrilled that Lorraine agreed to judge our competition and her support of the Fosterline Foundation is invaluable. Lorraine’s experiences of the care system enables her to appreciate first-hand the support Fosterline provides to foster carers.”

Fosterline Foundation has been established by FosterTalk, a not-for-profit organisation committed to supporting foster carers in the UK. Fosterline Foundation’s aim is to ensure longer term sustainability of retaining Fosterline as a free telephone and interactive website service for prospective and existing foster carers.
