If FC annual reviews are overdue (outside the 12 months minimum) do FCs remain registered and are there any concerns about the legality of placements?

Not sure about the legality but I have often been and no other carers who have had much bigger gaps between reviews and carry on fostering as normal??

This has been my experience too Leanne… Often reviews can go over the 12 months when there are complaints and allegations being investigated etc. Reg 28(2) is very clear that the timescale is 12 months max so would be really interested in the legal status of foster carers/
children placed where this timescale has overrun…

We have our LA FC yearly reviews every 10 months. This allows a 2 month period for the ADM to keep within timescales.

That sounds like very good practice Mick

It would very interesting to find out more about whether a foster carer remain registered and the legality of placements. This seems to be quite common. I wonder if it is picked up by OFSTED when they carry out inspections?
