Can anyone say if there is anything within Fostering regs or guidance in relation to a maximum timescale for a QD letter to be issued by ADM following panel recommendation?

    Hi Steve

My understanding of this from the National Minimum Standards 14.9 and 14.10 is that The Fostering Service Decision Maker makes a decision within 7 working days of receipt of the Panel recommendation and final set of Panel minutes and The Foster Carer or prospective Foster Carer is informed orally of the Decision Maker’s decision withing 2 working days and written confirmation is sent to them within five working days.

So it would seem a QD letter should be issued within 12 working days of the ADM receiving the Panel recommendation and final minutes.

There does not appear to be a timescale in which Panel should send the recommendation and minutes to the ADM.

Thanks gp123.. thats really helpful 🙂
