    Hi if an agency doesnt provide any placements over a 6 month period to new carers should they consider switching agencies mid-training or wait for a year to finish all the training and get through the first annual review and then transfer?



    If FCs are becoming frustrated with a lack of referals or placements they should discus this with their SW in the first instance. It may be that transferring agencies would not resolve the issue particularly if the FC has a limited approval (eg 1 child aged 0 to 4 years). I don’t think the training undertaken should be an issue as the TSDS workbook should be portable and training should be ongoing throughout a FC’s career. Another issue to consider is the length of time it would take to transfer.
