Children’s and Family Minister Edward Timpson officially launched the Fosterline Foundation during the FosterTalk 10th Anniversary Awards celebrating foster carers in 2014. The Minister made special reference towards Fosterline and congratulated Fosterline in a special message delivered during FosterTalks awards in 2015.
Mr Timpson, whose parents fostered around 90 children, explains:
“As someone from a foster family, I know that at times it can be challenging, and so it’s vital for foster carers to have access to support. Fosterline plays an important role in making sure that carers can get the help and advice they need, when they need it. The launch of the Fosterline Foundation will enable it to develop and expand these services.”
Melody Douglas, managing director of FosterTalk said:
“The Fosterline Foundation will help to shape the future of fostering by listening to and consulting with those who foster and reporting its findings back to strategic partners and the Department for Education. It will support foster carers and promote recruitment from under-represented communities to achieve better outcomes for children and young people within the care system.”
“We are committed to providing the highest quality of advice, support and information to the fostering population in as many media and forms of access as possible to establish Fosterline as THE place to go for fostering advice.”
