About FosterTalk

FosterTalk is an independent, not-for-profit organisation, focused solely on providing high quality, independent professional support to our members.

As an organisation, FosterTalk is committed to working in partnership with members to ensure their voice is heard in the many systems and processes in which they are involved.

Our objective is to provide comprehensive support packages that make a difference to foster carers and the children and young people they look after, and to enhance and compliment the support they receive from their fostering services.

FosterTalk has achieved two national awards recognising the quality of our services. These are:

Customer Service Excellence Award


The Customer Service Excellence Award is given to services that are efficient, effective, excellent, equitable and empowering – with the customer always and everywhere at the heart of service provision.

FosterTalk achieved the Customer Services Excellence Award in January 2016 following an in depth assessment of all our services with particular focus on delivery, timeliness, information, professionalism and staff attitude. There is also emphasis placed on developing customer insight, understanding the user’s experience and robust measurement of service satisfaction.

The Helplines Partnership Quality Standard

The Helplines Standard is a nationally recognised quality standard which defines and accredits best practice in helpline work. The Standard recognises the diverse challenges and issues faced by helplines and the multiple ways in which today’s service users wish to make contact.

FosterTalk was awarded the Helplines Partnership Quality Standard for Fosterline in April 2015.  Being awarded the Helplines Standard demonstrates that FosterTalk are effectively meeting the needs of service users, workers, funders and everyone coming into contact with our services.
