Young people to join MPs in discussion on fostering with Children and Families Minister

Young people with experience of foster care will sit alongside MPs for a discussion with the Minister as part of the Education Committee’s fostering inquiry on Tuesday 7 November at 10am.

The Committee will learn from the young people about ways they think the system could be changed before inviting them to join them in hearing from Children and Families Minister Robert Goodwill on the main issues raised in the inquiry.

The discussion is likely to focus on the capacity of the foster care system, issues facing foster carers and how young people feel about placements and support at school.

The session is the final session in the inquiry, which has previously heard from foster carers, care providers, and fostering organisations.
