The Children’s Commissioner for England has published a report on advocacy provision for children in England. Findings include: a high proportion of the local authorities who returned figures to the Children’s Commissioner did not know how many referrals and representations had been made to them for advocacy services; the highest spend per referral in 2018/19 was £3,018.84 while the lowest spend was £21.20; and the most common feedback from participants in a focus group of 43 12-25-year-olds with experiences of advocacy was that that advocates helped them resolve particular issues.
