Children’s rights charity Article 39 has been granted a judicial review against the Department for Education over emergency legislation which relaxes and removes councils’ statutory duties to vulnerable children. The High Court will hear the charity’s case against the government next month as it calls for amendments made to 10 acts designed to safeguard children in care and on the edge of care to be revoked.
