Following a cabinet reshuffle by new Prime Minister Theresa May, it has been confirmed over the weekend that Edward Timpson will remain at the Department for Education as children’s minister. Edward Timpson has held the position of minister of state for children and families for four years in total.

Alongside Mr Timpson, schools ministers Nick Gibb and Lord Nash, and minister for women and equalities Caroline Dineage, also remain at the department.

Other new appointments are: Justine Greening as Education Secretary replacing Nicky Morgan, and Jo Johnson is now minister of state for universities and science at the DfE.
