CALLING ALL FOSTERING SERVICE PROVIDERS

The Department for Education (DfE) is hosting a FREE Foster Carer Recruitment and Retention Conference for Fostering Service Providers. The venue has a capacity of 200 delegates, so attendance is on a first-come, first-serviced basis.

  • 19th March 2015
  • 9.30am – 4.30pm
  • Manchester United Football Ground

Since April 2013, the government has funded consortia of local authorities and independent fostering services to develop innovative recruitment and retention solutions to broaden the range of foster carers able to meet the needs of looked after children. For the majority of children, it is, first and foremost, through the skills and dedication of their foster carers that outcomes will improve. Foster carers provide an incredibly valuable role in society, caring for some of our most vulnerable children. Recruiting and retaining sufficient numbers of committed, competent foster carers, with skills, capacity, motivation, resillience and support to meet looked-after-children’s needs is a continual challenge for local authorities and independent fostering agencies.

Registered Fostering Service Providers are invited to come along and hear how local authorities and independent fostering providers have worked together, the innovative approaches developed and the outcomes achieved.
