The latest annual report covering the work of the Independent Review Mechanism for Fostering and Adoption in England (IRM) has been published. The report for 2017-18 includes statistics of the number of applications received and accepted, the background of the applicants, the outcome of accepted applications, feedback on the service, and an analysis of the key policy and practice themes arising from the reviews conducted in 2017-18. The IRM has also updated a set of information sheets on attending an IRM panel for foster carers, fostering service providers and adoption agency representatives and adoption applicants.
