The Children’s Society reports that MPs have launched an inquiry into children who go missing from “out of area” care homes in England. The decision follows data obtained through a parliamentary question by the MP Ann Coffey, which showed that the number of children reported as missing from care homes outside the local authority responsible for their care has increased from 990 in 2015 to 1,990 in 2018.
