A group of ten volunteers aged between 21 and 60 from around the West Midlands decided to leap from a plane at 12,500 feet to raise funds to support the vital work of Fosterline Foundation.

The terrific ten have raised several thousand pounds (and still counting!) for Fosterline Foundation which will be used to help sustain the future of Fosterline – the independent confidential impartial advisory support service for current and prospective foster carers in England.

Two of the volunteers, Adrian Vaughan and Sarah Collett work for FosterTalk in Bromsgrove, a not for profit provider of independent support for foster carers in the UK. Adrian and Sarah both speak to foster carers every day and are familiar with the difficulties they can sometimes face. Sarah said: “There are times, foster carers just need someone to talk to and to sound things out – Fosterline allows them to do this.”

Leanne Holder from Tamworth was another brave volunteer and has worked for Fosterline from the start of FosterTalk’s contract in June 2013. Raising money for Fosterline Foundation is very close to Leanne’s heart and she feels passionate about what the service does. She said: As a foster carer myself for the last 16 years I know how isolating and frightening it can be at times and I love being at the end of the phone to reassure and advise fellow foster carers on matters surrounding fostering.”

Steve Stockley, Fosterline Manager said: “This event has been a great boost for Fosterline Foundation, I want to say thank you to each and every brave volunteer who jumped.”

The other skydivers were: Ian Bell from Hereford, Matt Higgins and Hannah Hughes from Stourport-on-Severn, Paul Johnson from Tamworth, twins Archie and Bert Rogers and Wayne Cresswell from Redditch.
