Forty organisations and experts in children’s social care, including CoramBAAF, have come together to defend the rights of vulnerable children and young people, during the passage of the Children and Social Work Bill. Together for Children was formed to oppose plans to let councils exempt themselves from almost any duty imposed by children’s legislation passed in the last 80 years. The proposals will be debated in the House of Lords on 18 October, include controversial clauses (29-33) which pose a direct threat to children’s well-being.

More information is available on the recently launched Together for Children website.
