WEBINAR: The Impact of Unproven Allegations on Foster Carers

Monday 11 July 2016 4-4.45pm

The webinar will explain key findings from the recent research study by the Rees Centre along with implications for policy and practice. The presentation will be given by Gillian Plumridge and Judy Sebba from the Rees Centre. There will be plenty of time for discussion during the webinar and we welcome your questions.

This study explored the impact on carers of allegations made against them. It looked specifically at cases where allegations were closed as unproven (both unsubstantiated and unfounded). It aimed to identify ways to better support and treat foster carers who experience an allegation in order to limit negative outcomes and increase carer retention and placement stability in the longer term.

The report of the study, commissioned by FosterTalk and co-funded with the Sir Halley Stewart Trust, will be published 7 July 2016 and available on the Rees Centre website.
