The Association of Directors of Children’s Services (ADCS) has published a policy position paper on its future hopes for the children’s workforce in England. The paper welcomes the Government’s commitment on raising the quality and profile of the social work profession but argues that greater focus is need on supporting the wider children’s workforce, such as youth workers, health visitors and school support staff.

It goes on to call for the appointment of a national child, young people and families workforce lead to oversee a strategy to address capacity issues and ensure training is available to all.
