The Observer reports on an investigation it conducted with BBC 5 Live into the number of under-18-year-olds in care being placed in independent living accommodation without supervision or dedicated support in England and Wales.

Findings from Freedom of Information (FOI) requests indicate that four local authorities have placed up to 14 children in caravan parks and 17 councils have placed up to 133 children in bed and breakfast (B&B) accommodation over the past two years.
