The Council for Disabled Children and the True Colours Trust have published a report looking at what can be learnt from national data on the numbers of children with complex needs or life-limiting conditions. It is the first such analysis in over a decade and estimates that numbers of disabled children have increased dramatically by over 50% since 2004 to around 73,000 today. The report includes sections on children in need (CiN) and looked after children. It also analyses key gaps in available data.

The report, ‘Understanding the needs of disabled children with complex needs or life-limiting conditions’, is available on the Council for Disabled Children website. Further information is in the press release.
