Ofsted has published its annual report for 2017/18. Findings are based on inspection evidence from over 30,000 inspections of schools, colleges and providers of social care, early years and further education and skills. Key findings include: lack of regulation in independent and unregistered schools remains a cause for concern and a number of serious safeguarding issues have taken place at independent schools; outstanding primary and secondary schools continue to be exempt from inspection and this presents blind spots as to the quality of education and safeguarding.
